Timothy J. MesserTimothy J. Messer


Tim is a graduate of The University of Montana with more than 18 years professional experience. He’s a licensed physical therapist with a doctorate of physical therapy, a licensed athletic trainer and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He’s worked extensively with adolescent and collegiate athletes – many who have enjoyed professional athletic careers. Tim also is involved with developing wellness programs, school curriculums and athletic training programs. In 2012, Tim was awarded the Partnership Award for health & human performance students at UM.

Toby ChapmanToby Chapman


Toby has provided personal training and athletic performance training for more than 18 years. He’s a graduate of the California University of Pennsylvania with a master’s degree in exercise science and is a licensed physical therapy assistant. Toby also is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a performance enhancement and corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and a sports performance coach through USA Weightlifting. He works with athletes of all ages and all levels of competition. And, as a competitive ski racer, Toby is a former Masters world champion.

Laurie DarnellLaurie Darnell


Laurie joined our team of licensed therapists in 2010, after practicing in Georgia. She’s a graduate of the University of Georgia and North Georgia College & State University with a master’s degree in physical therapy. Laurie enjoys providing physical therapy for clients of all ages. Laurie has also completed a specialty course conducted by the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy on biomechanical assessment and manual therapy techniques of the lumbar spine, the lower thoracic spine, hip, knee, foot and ankle joints.

Benjamin BrookerBenjamin Brooker


Ben is a graduate of The University of Montana and joined Active Physical Therapy & Sports Injury Center as a licensed physical therapist in 2012. He has a doctorate of physical therapy and acquired his strength and conditioning specialist certification. He also has attended educational courses in lower extremity running dysfunction and vestibular/balance rehabilitation. Ben’s clinical interests include general orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, sports biomechanics with an emphasis in running and throwing, and balance dysfunction.

Meghan MinnickMeghan Minnick


Meghan is a graduate of the University of Montana and joined Active Physical Therapy & Sports Injury Center in 2014. She has a doctorate in physical therapy, as well as a bachelors of science in exercise physiology. As a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2009, Meghan enjoys working with patients in the areas of neuro-rehabilitation, orthopedic care, and pediatrics. She has more than twenty years of classical ballet and jazz training and has performed with dance companies across the U.S.
